JERUSALEM (VINnews) — An armed terrorist reached the vicinity of the Israel-Lebanon border and opened fire toward Israeli forces Tuesday before troops quickly eliminated him, the military said.

No injuries were reported among Israeli soldiers or civilians in the incident, which occurred in the Ramim Ridge area.

The attack prompted the activation of the “Knight of the Night B” alert protocol, a security procedure for suspected terrorist infiltrations along the northern border.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that troops identified and neutralized the threat in a rapid response. Details about the terrorist’s identity or affiliation were not immediately released.

The incident comes amid ongoing heightened security tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border following the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah. Israeli forces remain on high alert for infiltration attempts and other threats in the region.
