Busy Day for Emergency Responders Across the Catskills with Multiple Incidents

By BoroPark24 Staff

Emergency responders were kept busy throughout Sunday as multiple motor vehicle accidents, a vehicle fire, and a medical helicopter transport were reported across Sullivan County, prompting responses from police, local fire departments, and EMS agencies.

Among the incidents:

  • In Woodridge, one driver was arrested following a motor vehicle accident on Davos Lane.
  • Near the Rock Hill Fire Station on Glen Wild Road, two vehicles overturned and a third sustained heavy damage. Hatzolah treated six patients at the scene.
  • A medical helicopter landed at Fallsburg High School to transport a patient experiencing a medical emergency.
  • In Fallsburg, an accident occurred directly in front of the Catskills Hatzolah garage on Brickman Road, with Hatzolah volunteers responding immediately.
  • A vehicle caught fire on Route 17 just before Exit 113. Hatzolah and New York State Police responded, and one patient was transported to the hospital.
  • In South Fallsburg, Fallsburg Police, Fallsburg Fire Department, and Fallsburg EMS responded to a rollover crash on Mitteer Road.
  • Another accident occurred at the intersection of Anawana Lake Road and Fraser Road in Monticello, where Hatzolah and the Monticello Fire Department treated patients at the scene.

The string of incidents kept emergency crews constantly on the move throughout the day, highlighting the heavy demand placed on first responders during the busy Catskills summer season. Motorists are urged to remain alert, drive cautiously, and allow extra travel time as roads remain crowded with seasonal traffic.
