JERUSALEM (VINnews) — One person was killed and approximately five others were trapped Monday after a partial building collapse on Keren Kayemet Boulevard in Jerusalem, according to United Hatzalah.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and began treating several conscious victims while rescue teams worked to reach those trapped beneath the debris.
Israel Police said officers were assisting rescue operations and urged the public to avoid the area to allow emergency crews to work.
The cause of the collapse was not immediately known, and rescue efforts were ongoing.

United Hatzalah volunteer physician Dr. Aryeh Jaffe and EMTs Nachman Tubul, Yosef Gabbai, and Ariel Derai, who were among the first medical personnel to arrive.
“Fire and Rescue personnel extricated a man approximately 80 years old and brought him to us without signs of life,” United Hatzalah International Spokesperson Simmy Allen stated. “Unfortunately, due to the severe traumatic injuries he sustained, there was nothing further that could be done, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We also provided initial medical treatment to four other patients in their 80s who were trapped inside the store.
