NEW YORK (VINnews)  — US President Donald Trump on Wednesday warned that Washington would bomb an Iranian bridge or power plant each time Tehran attacks a commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

“From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

The United States carried out a new wave of airstrikes against Iran late on Tuesday, marking the 11th consecutive night of military operations, as Tehran warned Washington against attacking its nuclear facilities.

According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the strikes were aimed at further weakening Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy corridor. The military said the operation targeted Iranian military command centers, maritime assets, aircraft hangars, drone storage sites, and logistical infrastructure.

Iranian state media reported that air defense systems were activated in Tehran, while explosions were reported in Tabriz, the southeastern ports of Chabahar and Konarak, and Bushehr, home to Iran’s only operating nuclear power plant.

The latest attacks come amid renewed fighting after a ceasefire reached in April collapsed last week, with the United States and Iran exchanging attacks  and accusations as tensions intensified around the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM accused Iran of attacking more than 30 commercial vessels transiting the strategic waterway over the past three months, saying the actions endangered civilian shipping and threatened freedom of navigation.

The conflict continued to spread across the region overnight. Kuwait said its air defenses intercepted Iranian drones, while Bahrain and Jordan also reported shooting down incoming drones and missiles.

Global energy markets reacted to the escalation, with oil prices climbing to $94 per barrel on Wednesday.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington remains open to diplomacy but questioned whether Tehran is genuinely interested in negotiations.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump indicated that the next potential target could be Pickaxe Mountain, an underground nuclear facility near Natanz that Western officials suspect is being used for undeclared uranium enrichment.

“We’ll be hitting that area pretty soon, and very heavily,” Trump told reporters during a White House meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, adding that Iran would be unable to stop such an attack.

Iran responded with a stern warning. The Khatam al-Anbiya military command said any strike on its nuclear facilities would be considered a major escalation and threatened retaliation against “all the interests of America, its allies and supporters.”
