Trump Says Iran Wants an Agreement but ‘Isn’t Ready’ as US Steps Up Military Pressure
President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Iran is seeking an agreement with the United States but remains unwilling to commit to one, as American military operations against Iranian targets continue and Washington warns of even harsher retaliation if attacks on international shipping persist.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Marietta, Georgia, Trump argued that Tehran is eager to negotiate but continues to undermine the process by repeatedly changing its positions.
“They’re getting hit so hard, and they want to make a deal – but I say they’re not ready to make a deal because every time they make a deal they want to change it and everything. They’re not ready,” Trump told the crowd.

The President also declared that the United States has the upper hand in its confrontation with Iran and vowed that the regime would never again be able to threaten America as it has in the past.
The US is “winning in the Islamic Republic of Iran and we are ensuring that they will never ever be able to do to us what they have done to so many,” Trump said.
He also accused the Iranian regime of carrying out a brutal crackdown on anti-government demonstrators in recent months.
“They’ve killed 52,000 plus protesters. People that were protesting have been killed over the last four months. Nobody wants to talk about it,” he added.
Trump’s remarks followed a sharply worded warning issued earlier in the day, in which he threatened to dramatically expand US military action if Iran continues targeting commercial vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Earlier Wednesday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had completed another round of strikes inside Iran, marking the 11th consecutive night of military operations.
CENTCOM said the latest attacks focused on Iranian military command centers, naval assets, aircraft shelters, drone warehouses, and logistics facilities, with the objective of further reducing Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
“Over the past three months, Iran has attacked more than 30 commercial vessels transiting the international waterway vital for regional and global trade. The unwarranted attacks have endangered hundreds of innocent mariners and undermined freedom of navigation,” said CENTCOM.
