Radio Host Sid Rosenberg Labels NYC Mayor Mamdani a ‘Terrorist’ and ‘Jihadist’ on Fox News After Upper West Side Stabbings
NEW YORK (VINnews) – Radio host Sid Rosenberg on Saturday sharply criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani during an appearance on Fox News, calling the mayor a “terrorist” and “jihadist” and blaming him for creating an atmosphere of hate that he linked to recent stabbings on the Upper West Side.
“This guy is a TERRORIST. That’s the bottom line. I’LL SAY IT. You don’t wanna say it, I’ll say it! He’s a terrorist. He’s a jihadist. He hates the Jewish people. He hates America. He hates the Italian people. He hates the Irish people. He hates the German people,” Rosenberg said. “Unless you’re Muslim, Mayor Mamdani has no use for you! He is a horrible person and maybe has perpetrated the worst American and Jewish hate in the history of this country!”
Rosenberg referenced the Thursday attacks in which 51-year-old Raul Morales allegedly stabbed a 57-year-old Asian man in the back near Central Park West and then stabbed a 50-year-old Jewish man, Moshe Yezhak Grunhaus, in the chest with a screwdriver near West 86th Street shortly after Tisha B’Av services. Both victims survived and were listed in stable condition. Morales faces attempted murder and hate crime charges; police have noted possible mental health factors, and the suspect reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attacks.
“Those two people stabbed the other day in New York City — that blood is on HIS HANDS,” Rosenberg said. “That blood is on your hands, Mayor Mamdani! We got to find a way to get this guy out of here… this guy is the worst thing to happen to New York politics, maybe in the history of our state. He’s a lowlife!”
When a Fox host interjected that Rosenberg “may be a bit over your skis in calling him, labeling him a terrorist” and that he was “probably going to get flagged for that,” Rosenberg responded: “Why? The Hamas guys in Qatar never put on an explosive vest, never SH0T anybody, would you consider them terrorists? Because I would! Okay, so his ideologies are in line with the terrorists. Mahmoud Khalil is a campus terrorist. You don’t have to k*ll somebody to be a terrorist. You have to share the ideology.”
Mamdani, New York City’s first Muslim mayor and a vocal critic of Israeli policies, has condemned the stabbings. He said both victims were in stable condition, called the attacks “hateful and despicable,” and thanked the NYPD for a swift arrest. Police are evaluating whether the incidents constitute hate crimes.
Jewish community leaders have expressed concern that the mayor’s sharp criticism of Israel, including recent remarks describing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a “war criminal,” has contributed to a charged climate. Mamdani has maintained that his comments target government policies, not people, and has repeatedly stated there is “no tolerance” for antisemitism or hatred in the city.
Rosenberg, a longtime WABC radio host and outspoken supporter of Israel, has repeatedly criticized Mamdani. In March he faced backlash after referring to the mayor as a “radical Islam cockroach” and later apologized, only to later revoke that apology. He has continued to accuse Mamdani of antisemitism and anti-American views.
The comments come amid heightened tensions in New York following a rise in reported antisemitic incidents and ongoing debates over the mayor’s foreign policy positions and approach to public safety.
