Israeli Prime Minister Binyomin Netanyahu gave an unexpected response during a Fox News interview when asked how he would handle the possibility of an emergency landing in a country that recognizes the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against him, suggesting that Israel’s special forces would be ready if necessary.

During his interview with Sean Hannity, the prime minister was asked whether he worries that a medical emergency on an international flight could force his aircraft to land in a nation that recognizes the ICC warrant issued by the court in The Hague, potentially creating legal complications.

“You travel internationally. God forbid you have a medical emergency, and you need to land in a country that recognizes the ICC. It could complicate things. Do you worry about that?” Hannity asked.

Netanyahu acknowledged that the possibility has crossed his mind.

“Yes, I think about it,” he said.

He then appeared to joke about how Israel would deal with such a scenario, pointing to the country’s elite military units while recalling his own service in the IDF.

“We have special forces around. I served for five years,” Netanyahu said.

After Hannity observed that the IDF is widely regarded as one of the world’s toughest militaries, Netanyahu smiled and quipped, “Let’s give them a new task.”
