The IDF announced that it has killed Mohammed Kafina, a senior terrorist who participated in the October 7 massacre, helped abduct Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or, and oversaw the kidnapping of Sudthisak Rinthalak.
According to the military, Kafina was eliminated in a targeted airstrike carried out Tuesday in southern Gaza. He served as the commander of the central Gaza sector for the terrorist organization Kataeb al-Mujahideen.
The IDF said Kafina crossed into Israel during the October 7 attack, leading the group of terrorists who infiltrated alongside him. During the assault, he personally took part in the abduction of Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or and directed the kidnapping of Sudthisak Rinthalak.
Israeli officials added that throughout the war, including in recent weeks, Kafina continued planning and advancing terrorist attacks targeting both IDF forces and Israeli civilians.
The military said intelligence indicated that Kafina posed an immediate threat to Israeli troops. As a result, he was killed in what the IDF described as a precise aerial strike.
