WASHINGTON D.C (VINnews) – President Trump on Monday sharply criticized Iranian leaders as “unbelievably duplicitous,” saying they request meetings while publicly denying any discussions are underway, and reiterated that Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon.

In a statement, Trump said Iranian officials ask for talks — “some would say ‘beg’” — only to claim openly that no negotiations are occurring and that they are dealing solely with Oman. He accused them of making false claims about control of the Strait of Hormuz.

“They then go on to give their usual blather in saying, the Strait of Hormuz will be operated powerfully by them, when it is already completely controlled by the United States Navy and our ‘Blockade’ or, as some say, ‘The United States Wall of Steel!’” Trump said.

“Nothing gets through to Iran, unless we want it to, and nothing will get through, unless a Deal, or Total Surrender, is accomplished,” he continued.

Trump framed ongoing discussions as addressing a problem caused by Iran “for decades.”

“Whether Iran wants to admit it or not, we are, in fact, talking of a solution to a problem that they have caused, for decades. It is very simple, IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!” he said. “Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
