A major milestone is underway for the Sanz-Zmigrad kehillah in Boro Park as construction has officially begun on a brand-new bais medrash on 50th Street.
Demolition work just started on the old building, making way for a much larger and more spacious structure that will serve the growing kehillah.
The project comes after years of steady growth, with the current bais medrash often filled to capacity. The new building will be constructed on the site of the existing bais medrash together with an adjoining property that was purchased by the kehillah years ago in preparation for future expansion.
During construction, bais medrash’s has been moved to the nearby Chasan Sofer Yeshiva.
The plans call for a beautiful new and expanded bais medrash, along with a new residence for the Rebbe. The kehillah is hoping to have the first phase ready for use by the upcoming Yamim Noraim, with additional construction continuing afterward.
