JERUSALEM (VINnews) — Israeli combat engineers demolished a Hezbollah tunnel spanning dozens of meters in the southern Lebanon village of Srebbine in recent days, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Troops from the 300th “Baram” Regional Brigade and the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit carried out a targeted operation in the village, during which forces destroyed the tunnel, the military said. The tunnel had been used by Hezbollah to advance attacks, according to the IDF.

Elsewhere in southern Lebanon, troops from the Kfir Brigade discovered and demolished a weapons cache containing Hezbollah rockets and launchers. Reservists from the Kiryati Brigade located dozens of additional weapons, the army added.

The operations form part of ongoing IDF activity against Hezbollah infrastructure in the region.
