Former Mossad Director David Barnea Named Global President and Chairman of Ondas Defense
WEST PALM BEACH (VINnews)-Former Mossad Director David Barnea has been appointed global president and chairman of Ondas Defense Ltd., a subsidiary of U.S.-based defense contractor Ondas Inc., the company announced.
Barnea will oversee international expansion for the firm across the Middle East, Europe and Asia. The appointment comes two months after he completed a five-year term as head of Israel’s national intelligence agency. During his tenure, he directed major operations and advanced the agency’s integration of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity capabilities.
Ondas said the role is independent of Barnea’s prior government service. Internal Mossad legal advisers cleared the transition under rules that prohibit the sharing of restricted or classified government information.
In his new position, Barnea will work with senior leadership to identify capability gaps and integrate recent defense-technology acquisitions. Those acquisitions include autonomous ground robotics, aerial surveillance systems, precision-strike platforms and counter-drone technologies, which the company aims to combine into a unified multi-domain platform.
The move reflects Ondas’s broader consolidation strategy. The company has pursued multi-million-dollar acquisitions in the United States, Israel and Europe to supply AI-driven warfare systems to defense clients worldwide.
