Israeli Navy Conducts Large-Scale Drill Across Mediterranean and Red Seas
JERUSALEM (VINnews)-The Israeli Navy carried out a large-scale military drill this week involving its fleets of warships, submarines and border security vessels, the military said.
The exercise took place in both the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea as part of efforts to draw lessons from fighting over the past three years, according to the Navy.
Hundreds of sailors aboard missile boats, corvettes, submarines and patrol boats participated, the Israel Defense Forces said.
In the Mediterranean, forces practiced scenarios that included maritime infiltration, multi-front combat, aerial threats, the use of firepower and the defense of strategic assets such as gas rigs, Israeli ports and national infrastructure, the military said.
In the Red Sea, sailors simulated additional scenarios in cooperation with the Navy’s Operations Division to strengthen command capabilities, synchronization and cooperation between units, the Navy added.
