
12-Year-Old Frum Boy Niftet After Boat Capsizes in Jordan River Near Yesod HaMaalah
A 12-year-old chareidi boy was found dead Sunday afternoon after his boat capsized in the Jordan River near Yesod HaMaalah.
Fire and rescue crews, along with special rescue unit fighters from the Northern District, conducted extensive searches of the river after receiving a report that the boy had capsized from a boat and contact with him was lost.
Police said extensive forces, including a police aviation unit helicopter, rescue unit volunteers, and fire and rescue teams, were dispatched to the scene to conduct wide-scale searches. Rescue units from the Golan located the houng boy in the water and transferred him to medical teams on scene, who sadly pronounced his death at the location.
Rav-Rasaf Dror Buchnik, commander controlling the incident, said firefighters and special rescue unit personnel searched in the water and along the banks, alongside a drone that scanned the length of the stream.
