Three Arab political parties have agreed to reunite under a single electoral slate ahead of Israel’s upcoming elections, saying their primary objective is to defeat the current right-wing coalition and boost voter turnout in the Arab sector.

The National Reconciliation Committee announced that it had approved the creation of a joint list bringing together the communist Hadash party, the left-wing Palestinian nationalist Balad party, and the anti-Zionist Arab nationalist Ta’al party.

In a statement following the announcement, Hadash welcomed the agreement and said it was ready to begin campaigning immediately. The party said its immediate goals are to increase Arab voter participation and secure the strongest possible showing for the renewed Joint List at the ballot box.

According to Hadash, the decision to restore the alliance reflects what it described as the Arab public’s desire “to topple the fascist right-wing government.”

The party also accused the government of seeking to entrench the “occupation,” continue what it called a war of “extermination” in Gaza, carry out “ethnic cleansing in the West Bank,” and intensify what it described as a “racist” campaign against Arab citizens of Israel while allowing organized crime groups to operate with impunity and undermine public safety.
