COLUMBIA, S.C. (VINnews) — Decision Desk HQ projects that Sen. Darline Graham has advanced to a runoff in South Carolina’s special Republican primary for U.S. Senate.

Graham, who has President Donald Trump’s endorsement, led the field with 11,855 votes, or 29.5%. Rep. Ralph Norman followed with 9,869 votes (24.5%), Rep. Russell Fry had 9,715 votes (24.1%), former Gov. Mark Sanford received 6,077 votes (15.1%), and Mark Lynch tallied 1,994 votes (5.0%).

Because no candidate secured a majority, the top two finishers will compete in a runoff. Prediction market Kalshi Politics had given Graham a 99% chance of advancing. Pre-election polls showed her leading with roughly 25% to 30% support, while Norman, Fry and Sanford vied closely for second place.

Graham was appointed to the Senate in July by Gov. Henry McMaster to fill the vacancy left by the death of her brother, Sen. Lindsey Graham. She is seeking the full term.

The Republican nominee will be heavily favored in the general election against Democratic nominee Annie Andrews in the solidly Republican state.
