
UINCY, Ill. (VINnews) — A Powerball ticket sold in Illinois matched all six numbers Wednesday night to win the estimated $1.04 billion jackpot, one of the largest prizes in the game’s history.
The winning numbers were 4, 26, 66, 67, 69 and the red Powerball 9.
The winning ticket was purchased at Hy-Vee Gas #1534, 310 N. 36th St. in Quincy, according to lottery officials. The winner has not been identified.
The jackpot winner can choose between an estimated $1.04 billion annuity paid over 30 years or a one-time cash option of about $450.5 million, before taxes.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
The jackpot was the largest Powerball prize of the year and the eighth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
The previous Powerball jackpot was won May 2, when tickets sold in Texas and Florida split a $20 million prize. The Florida winning ticket remains unclaimed.
The largest Powerball jackpot in history was $2.04 billion, won in November 2022.
