NASSAU COUNTY (VINnews)-President Trump is on Long Island this afternoon to tour the Nassau County Police Academy in Garden City.

He is highlighting the FBI’s 2025 Crime Report, which shows the largest year-to-year drop in violent crime on record, including an estimated 18.1% decline in murder and manslaughter.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman will join him, along with Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel. Officials say the visit will also pay tribute to local police, sheriffs, probation officers, and firefighters.

Trump is expected in the area roughly from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Residents and drivers in Garden City, Mineola, Uniondale, East Meadow, and Hempstead should expect intermittent road closures, delays, and heavier traffic.

A designated protest area has been set up nearby.
