A one-year-old girl from a chareidi family is in critical condition after nearly drowning Tuesday morning in a backyard pool in Beit She’an.
MDA and United Hatzalah crews found the toddler unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, and performed CPR before transporting her to HaEmek Medical Center while continuing resuscitation efforts.
The incident comes as child safety organization Beterem reports a sharp rise in fatal child drownings, with 11 children and teens killed by drowning in Israel so far this year, compared with two during the same period last year.
