The Sloatsburg Fire Department is mourning the loss of Ex-Chief Peter Barba, a 53-year life member who dedicated decades of service to both the fire service and law enforcement.

Barba joined the Sloatsburg Fire Department in 1973 and rose through the ranks, serving as Chief of Department from 1992 to 1994. He later served as President of the department from 1996 through 2000. Beyond his service as a firefighter, Barba also spent nearly four decades in law enforcement, first with the Village of Sloatsburg Police Department and later with the Ramapo Police Department.

The Sloatsburg Fire Department extended its heartfelt condolences to Chief Barba’s family and friends, remembering him for a lifetime of dedicated service to his community. May his memory be a blessing.
