ARAB LEADERS TO TRUMP: “Netanyahu Is An Obstacle To Regional Peace”

Jul 15, 2026·1 min read

Arab leaders have told President Donald Trump they no longer have confidence in Israel’s current government or Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, arguing that he is obstructing the president’s vision for peace and broader regional agreements in the Middle East, Kan News reported.

Arab diplomats familiar with the discussions said Trump’s conversations with regional leaders have influenced his thinking and that he is beginning to view Netanyahu as “an obstacle to realizing his vision for the region” and to advancing regional agreements.

According to the report, countries in the region are now waiting to see the outcome of Israel’s upcoming elections. While publicly avoiding the appearance of interfering in Israel’s internal affairs, including the election campaign, efforts are reportedly being made behind the scenes to influence Trump’s views regarding Netanyahu.

Last month, Trump told Kan News he would “very likely” support Netanyahu in the upcoming election but wanted to see who else would enter the race. He added that while he has a good relationship with Netanyahu, “he needs to be more rational.”
