A large police response, including the Rockland County REACT/SWAT Team, was deployed to the Gesner Apartments on Thursday afternoon following reports of an armed individual inside one of the apartments.

The incident began at approximately 2:55 p.m., when Spring Valley Police established a perimeter around the apartment complex. The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist.

As the operation continued, the Rockland County REACT/SWAT Team arrived on scene and deployed tactical officers. Using a loudspeaker, officers repeatedly announced that they had an arrest warrant and ordered the individual inside the apartment to exit peacefully.

At approximately 5:10 p.m., the REACT/SWAT Team concluded its operation and departed the scene. Spring Valley Police officers and Rockland County Sheriff’s deputies remained in the area as the investigation continued.
