IRAN WARNS: “Waiting Period Is Over” As Tehran Orders Hezbollah To Prepare For Major Regional War

Jul 17, 2026·2 min read

Iran has reportedly sent a dramatic message to Hezbollah and its other regional proxies, telling them that the “waiting period is about to end” and instructing them to prioritize preparations for potential military scenarios, according to the Lebanese newspaper Nidaa Al Watan.

The report, published Friday, says the message was delivered during meetings in Tehran attended by senior figures from Iran’s regional alliance, including Hezbollah representatives.

According to sources cited by the newspaper, Iran’s message was unequivocal: prepare fully for any development, as any future conflict would be unlike previous rounds of fighting and could be broader, more intense, and fought across multiple fronts simultaneously.

Nidaa Al Watan also reports that Tehran still views Hezbollah as its most important regional asset following the setbacks suffered by Iranian terror proxies in recent months. According to the report, Iranian officials believe Hezbollah could play a central role in any future confrontation if pressure on Tehran reaches unprecedented levels.

The newspaper further claims that organizational and operational preparations have already begun throughout the so-called “Axis of Resistance” in anticipation of possible decisions in the coming period should the fighting expand.

Journalist Alan Sarkis, who reported the story, said these developments run counter to efforts by the Lebanese government to prevent another war through diplomatic channels. While Beirut is seeking stability and attempting to keep Lebanon out of another conflict, Hezbollah continues operating as part of Iran’s regional network, potentially placing Lebanon at the center of any future regional confrontation.
