Vice President JD Vance’s office has forcefully denied an Israeli media report claiming that it sought to prevent a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Donald Trump.
The report cited unnamed Israeli officials who alleged that Vance’s team feared Netanyahu would press Trump to take a more aggressive approach toward Iran, while the vice president favors a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing tensions.
“This is 100% fake news, and we would’ve told Ynet so if they bothered to reach out to our team,” Vance’s communications director, Taylor Van Kirk, wrote on X.
Vance recently criticized what he described as Israeli efforts to undermine the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, saying on a podcast that Israelis allegedly involved should “go to hell.”
