The US did not carry out overnight strikes on Iran on Friday night for the first time in 13 consecutive nights, but Israeli defense officials remain on high alert amid assessments that Washington could still launch a major military operation.

According to Israeli security assessments, preparations remain underway for the possibility of a large-scale U.S. strike after the operation was reportedly postponed over the weekend.

Israeli officials believe President Donald Trump may ultimately determine that diplomatic efforts have run their course, making military action unavoidable. The Israeli Air Force is therefore expected to remain on heightened alert in preparation for a possible escalation.

One Israeli official described the situation as “only postponing the inevitable,” saying he believes the chances of a U.S.-Iran agreement remain extremely slim.

Attention is now focused on the planned meeting between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Trump, which is expected to take place Tuesday in Washington.

Netanyahu will present Trump with new intelligence information indicating that Iran has once again accelerated its nuclear program and is moving at an increased pace toward achieving a nuclear weapons capability, Channel 12 reported.
