Drone Falls Near National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s Home

Jul 25, 2026·2 min read

A drone fell near the home of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir in Kiryat Arba over Shabbos.

The drone did not contain explosives and was recovered by the IDF. There were no casualties, and it is unknown who launched the drone or for what purpose. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

The National Security Minister’s office said: “During Shabbat, Minister Ben Gvir was informed by security officials that a drone had fallen near his home and that the circumstances of the incident are under investigation. The drone was recovered by the IDF, and there were no casualties.”

The statement added: “The minister and his family are safe.”

Last week, the Israel Police and the Shin Bet announced the arrest of 29-year-old Muhammad Awad, a resident of Nazareth, on suspicion of attempting to join Hamas and advance a plot to assassinate Minister Ben Gvir.

The Shin Bet investigation revealed that Awad worked for a security company in Afula and contacted Hamas in an attempt to join the organization and obtain resources to carry out terrorist activity. He also allegedly planned to attack the minister.

At the time, Ben Gvir said: “This is the ninth time that terrorist organizations have marked me as a target and tried to harm me. I thank the Shin Bet, the Israel Police, the Israel Prison Service Intelligence Division, the Magen Unit, and above all, Hashem Yisbarach, for preventing the terrorists from harming me and my family.”
