IDF Manhunt: Terrorists Seize Weapon From Soldier On Leave at Farm Near Susya

Jul 25, 2026·2 min read

Arabs attacked Israeli civilians shortly before the end of Shabbos near the yishuv of Susya in the southern Chevron Hills.

During the incident, a terrorist seized the weapon of a 25-year-old Israeli soldier who was on leave. The soldier sustained a head injury after the Arabs threw a rock at him. He was evacuated in moderate condition to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva.

The weapon was later recovered by IDF forces.

The IDF spokesperson said: “Following an initial investigation of the incident that occurred a short while ago in the area of the community of Susya in the Judea Brigade, it was determined that terrorists attacked an IDF soldier who was on leave and seized his weapon. A short time later, IDF forces located and recovered the weapon. The forces are continuing to pursue the terrorist.”

Har Hevron Regional Council head Eliram Azulay said on Motzei Shabbos: “I am standing near the yishuv of Susya. A serious incident took place here in which an IDF soldier on leave, who was staying at a farm near Susya over Shabbat, went out to graze livestock near the farm. During the grazing, several terrorists attacked him, threw rocks at him, wounded him in the head, and stole his military weapon.

“The soldier was evacuated to the hospital in moderate condition, and after extensive searches by large IDF forces, the weapon was recovered.

“Terrorism against the residents of the yishuvim has reached a very dangerous new stage. Terror is trying to frighten us and drive us from here. We will continue to build lives here and expand the yishuvim throughout the region. I commend the IDF and call for a broad operation against terrorism and for enforcement against illegal construction.”
