Driving down State Route 59, it is impossible to miss the sprawling network of raw structural steel rising into the skyline. Work crews have officially entered the next major phase of structural assembly at the O&R Spring Valley Operating Center. The project stands as a massive focal point of the utility provider's multi-million-dollar regional infrastructure initiative.

Drone footage captured at the site shows structural steel framers anchoring heavy girders to a newly set foundation. The ongoing build is part of a 47,600-square-foot office addition erected directly alongside the utility's legacy brick facility.

Once complete, the facility will serve as a centralized, high-tech command center designed to optimize day-to-day electrical staging and rapidly accelerate emergency storm deployments across southern Rockland County.

The accelerated pace of construction at the facility coincides directly with major utility work nearby. It aligns with O&R’s ongoing installation of Transmission Line 705 (TL705)—a 5.5-mile, 138-kilovolt underground climate resilience cable linking Nanuet to West Nyack.
