Channel 12 journalist Amit Segal excoriated the members of Yair Golan’s Democrats party, who actually blamed Jews for the Arab murders and violence in recent days in Yehudah and Shomron.
Moshe Radman, the No. 9 candidate on the Democrats party list, sparked outrage following the terror attack near Havat Gilad on Friday, where Arabs murdered two Jews, after blaming the settlement movement and offering condolences to both the victim’s family and the terrorist’s family.
In his post, Segal blasted Radman and his fellow Democrats members and referred to Avida Bachar, a formerly left-wing kibbutznik who lost his wife, his 15-year-old son, and one of his legs in the October 7 massacre. Like many Israelis, Bachar reconsidered his views about his Arab neighbors following the massacre. However, Bachar went a step further than most, doing true teshuva by realizing that his real issue before the massacre was not his naiveté about his Arab neighbors but rather his hatred of his fellow Jews. He admitted that if the massacre had occurred in Yehuda and Shomron, he would have blamed the Jews. Despite his devastating losses, he said that “it’s lucky” the massacre happened in the Gaza border area because now he learned his lesson.
Segal said: “Avida Bachar was right. If October 7 had happened in Yehuda and Shomron, No. 5 on the Democrats list would have started a crowdfunding campaign for Jabalia, No. 9 would have wondered who started it and who took whose weapon, No. 11 would have blamed ‘Jewish terrorism,’ and all of their partners in the bloc would have remained silent in the face of the hatred and the dancing on the blood.”
Segal later added another post, stating: “In a case like this, just as with what happened on Friday, Moshe Radman would have said it’s not clear who started it, Yaya Fink might have launched a fundraiser for the residents of Jabalia, and Nimrod Sheffer would have explained to all of us that Jewish terrorism was to blame.”
Segal added that although two people were murdered in the attack, “in their view, the Jews are always to blame.”
“What’s no less astonishing than these disgusting posts is the silence of their partners in the change bloc,” Segal stated in a reference to Gadi Eizenkot, Yair Lapid, and Naftali Bennett. “These are their partners for forming a government, so they don’t say a word.”
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir also joined the criticism. “The antisemitic incitement by members of the Democrats party following the terrorist attack at Havat Gilad is further proof of the complete loss of direction of this anti-Zionist party, which is turning into a party of terror supporters,” he stated.
“A party whose members took part in the refusal movement that led to the October 7 massacre, raised money for the residents of Huwara, and now justify terrorism while blaming the Jewish victims is a moral stain on the Israeli left, which refuses to condemn them. It is unfit to serve in the Knesset of Israel, and certainly unfit to be part of the next government.”
