The IDF and Shin Bet announced Monday that they eliminated Wael Mousa Khaled Al-Lidawi, the commander of Hamas’ Internal Security apparatus in the central Gaza camps, during a strike Sunday in the Deir al-Balah area.
According to the IDF, Hamas’ Internal Security apparatus serves as one of the terrorist organization’s central covert branches. Under Al-Lidawi’s command, the unit gathered intelligence for senior Hamas terrorists, helping them make operational decisions and plan terror attacks against Israel.
The military said IDF forces under Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with current operational directives and will continue acting to eliminate any threat to Israel.
