Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concluded a nearly 90-minute meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, with officials on both sides describing the talks as positive and productive.
Netanyahu was seen leaving the White House at approximately 12:25 p.m. local time. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump’s meetings with Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky were both “positive and productive.”
A senior official familiar with the details of the Netanyahu-Trump meeting said it was conducted “in a very positive atmosphere and in good spirits,” together with senior administration officials.
“The excellent chemistry between the leaders was clearly evident,” the official said.
According to the official, Netanyahu and Trump reaffirmed their shared position that Iran must not be permitted to obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
The two leaders also discussed the U.S.-Israel partnership, which the official described as “stronger than ever,” as well as various opportunities in the Middle East.
