Seven people were injured Wednesday in a serious three-vehicle crash on Route 90 near Kibbutz Ashdot Yaakov in northern Israel.
The most seriously injured victim, a man in his 30s, was trapped inside his vehicle with multiple traumatic injuries. Firefighters extricated him before MDA medics transferred him to an MDA Air Rescue helicopter. Due to the severity of his condition, he received a blood transfusion during the flight to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.
Three other victims were listed in moderate condition, including a woman in her 30s with chest and abdominal injuries, a 5-year-old girl with abdominal injuries, and a one-year-old baby who suffered a head injury. Three additional victims sustained minor injuries and were transported to Poriya Medical Center for treatment.
MDA paramedics said the critically injured man remained conscious but required immediate blood products while en route to the hospital in an effort to stabilize his condition.
