The Lakewood Police Department has charged a 35-year-old Pennsauken man in connection with two separate burglary investigations that took place in Lakewood during the month of July.

According to police, the first investigation began on July 19 after officers responded to a report of a suspicious individual inside a residence on Cross Street. During the investigation, Mashon Wilson allegedly provided officers with false identifying information. As the investigation continued, officers linked him to multiple thefts within the building, resulting in charges including burglary, defiant trespassing, hindering apprehension, and seven counts of theft. Police also determined that Wilson had an active warrant for his arrest.

In a separate case, officers responded to a report of a trespasser at a school on Massachusetts Avenue. Investigators determined that the suspect had unlawfully entered the building several days earlier and allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash. Through their investigation, officers identified Wilson as the same individual arrested during the Cross Street incident, leading to additional burglary and theft charges.

“This case demonstrates the value of thorough police work and the determination of our officers to follow every lead,” said Lakewood Police Chief Gregory H. Meyer. “Their efforts not only led to the arrest of a burglary suspect but also connected him to another unsolved case, resulting in additional criminal charges. We remain committed to holding those who prey upon our community accountable.”

As with all criminal cases, the charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
