Jul 30, 2026·1 min read

A 58-year-old Charedi journalist from Kiryat Ye’arim was arrested Monday after Jerusalem District Police raided his home on suspicion that he possessed illegal material on his personal computer and other digital devices.

According to police, the investigation was launched following intelligence information indicating that the suspect may have been in possession of prohibited material. Investigators from the Jerusalem District’s Youth Unit obtained a court-issued search warrant before carrying out the raid.

During the search, officers seized a laptop computer and a cellular phone, both of which have been sent for forensic examination as investigators work to recover and analyze digital evidence.

The suspect was questioned on suspicion of possessing illegal material. Police are expected to bring him before the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday to request an extension of his remand as the investigation continues.

Authorities emphasized that the allegations remain under investigation and that the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
