Iranian citizens are reporting a sharp escalation in the regime’s crackdown on dissent following this week’s execution of two men linked to anti-government protests in Isfahan, describing an atmosphere of fear, heightened security, and growing public anger.

In interviews with Israeli media, residents from across Iran said the government has intensified its campaign against political opponents, increasing armed patrols, conducting phone inspections on public transportation, and arresting individuals accused of supporting opposition movements.

Sajad, a resident of Tehran, said the regime has once again turned to executions as a tool of intimidation.

“The regime’s execution machine has started operating again,” he said. “People are being executed every day, and their families are threatened with prison if they speak publicly about it.”

He said ordinary Iranians no longer feel safe anywhere.

“There is no safe space for people. They want to instill fear so that no one dares raise their voice. But what has taken root in people’s hearts is anger.”

According to Sajad, authorities have also resumed strict enforcement inside Tehran’s subway system, where morality patrols and security forces allegedly stop passengers, search their mobile phones, and detain anyone found with photos or videos from past protests.

He further claimed that even following opposition figures on social media can lead to arrest.

Another resident, Alireza of Mashhad, described an increased presence of armed security forces throughout the city.

“Motorcycle units patrol crowded areas while heavily armed,” he said. “They position themselves at major intersections to make people feel constantly unsafe.”

He argued that the Islamic Republic intensifies domestic repression whenever it perceives reduced military pressure from Israel and the United States.

“As long as the regime feels more secure externally, it increases executions and repression at home,” he said.

A third resident, Reza of Tehran, said executions have long been one of the regime’s primary methods of discouraging dissent.

“The government uses every opportunity available to tighten its grip on society and expand its repression,” he said.

The accounts could not be independently verified. However, they paint a picture of growing tensions inside Iran as authorities continue to target critics while many citizens say fear is increasingly giving way to frustration and anger toward the regime.
