Israeli officials involved in the implementation of President Trump’s Gaza plan say negotiations in Cairo are aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement rather than holding another routine round of talks, according to a report in i24 News.

Officials said mediators and the Peace Council will not accept a partial arrangement in which only some tunnels are dismantled or only some weapons are surrendered. The proposed framework calls for the complete destruction of Hamas’s tunnels, weapons depots and production facilities, with all heavy and light weapons transferred to the control of a technocratic governing committee under international supervision.

Under the plan, authority in Gaza would gradually be transferred to the technocratic government, while Hamas would be excluded from any future role, whether openly or behind the scenes.

However, an Israeli diplomatic official said the current 15-point document does not adequately address Israel’s demands. “Israel demands the complete disarmament of Hamas, including the removal of weapons from Gaza and the full demilitarization of the Strip as a precondition for any process,” the official said, adding that Israel had submitted its objections to envoy Tony Blair.

“There will be no Israeli withdrawal from the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip before Hamas is disarmed and the Strip is demilitarized,” the official stressed.
