Ukraine is reportedly intensifying its drone campaign against Russia’s fuel infrastructure by targeting the most critical components of oil refineries with the help of trained engineers, according to a report by the Financial Times.

Rather than striking at random, Ukrainian drone teams are briefed on the most vulnerable and difficult-to-replace refinery equipment, allowing them to inflict long-term damage that delays repairs and disrupts operations.

The report says the strategy has had a major impact, with more than 30% of Russia’s fuel production capacity knocked offline over the past year. Many damaged facilities remain out of service, as Russia struggles to replace key components.

The sustained attacks have reportedly pushed Russia into its worst fuel crisis since the collapse of the Soviet Union, underscoring the growing effectiveness of Ukraine’s long-range drone campaign.
