A man accused of stealing merchandise from a Monsey home improvement store earlier this month was taken into custody after returning to the same business today, thanks to the quick actions of alert employees.

According to the store, the suspect allegedly entered the business on July 8 at approximately 12:30 p.m. and browsed the power tools section before taking a Milwaukee circular saw into the restroom. Investigators say he later emerged carrying his backpack, placed the now-empty product box back on the shelf, and walked past all checkout registers without paying.

After the alleged theft was discovered, store management distributed screenshots of the suspect to employees and instructed staff to immediately notify authorities if he returned.

Store officials say the suspect came back to the business multiple times in the weeks that followed.

On July 30, vigilant employees recognized the man as soon as he entered the store and promptly contacted the Ramapo Police Department. Officers responded and took the suspect into custody without incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
