A security official said the United States informed Israel before renewing its strikes on Iran overnight. Senior IDF and defense officials had been waiting for Netanyahu’s return from Washington, and an additional discussion on Iran is now expected to take place.

Israel is preparing for several possible scenarios, including a broader escalation, missile launches toward Israel and possible Israeli participation in the campaign. Intensive security coordination is also taking place with the United Arab Emirates, and an Emirati military transport aircraft made an unusual landing at Nevatim Air Base earlier this week as part of the cooperation between the two countries.

Trump has not yet decided on the next step. A CENTCOM plan reportedly under consideration calls for two weeks of large-scale airstrikes aimed at damaging Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and reducing its ability to strike countries across the region.
