Efforts to restore passenger rail service along the CSX West Shore Corridor took another step forward as representatives of All Aboard Hudson Valley met with senior transportation and intergovernmental affairs staff from Governor Kathy Hochul's Executive Chamber.

The meeting focused on the organization's request for a modern feasibility study to evaluate the potential return of passenger rail service to communities west of the Hudson River. Participants discussed the region's growing transportation needs, the opportunities presented by the existing rail corridor, and the importance of examining the proposal using current data and planning standards.

According to All Aboard Hudson Valley, the discussion was productive, and the organization will continue working with state, regional, county, and local leaders to advance the initiative.

Supporters of the project say the meeting represents meaningful progress, as the proposal continues to gain attention from government officials and community leaders. They also thanked the municipalities, county legislatures, organizations, and residents whose continued support has helped move the effort forward.

If approved, a feasibility study would examine the practicality, costs, and potential benefits of restoring passenger rail service along the West Shore Corridor, a project many advocates believe could significantly improve transportation options for communities throughout the Hudson Valley.
