TRAGIC ACCIDENT: One Killed, Nine Injured In Two-Vehicle Collision On Route 98
A 35-year-old man was killed and nine others were injured Sunday in a serious two-vehicle crash on Route 98 in northern Israel, emergency officials said.
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene after finding him unconscious, without a pulse or signs of breathing, suffering from severe multi-system injuries. Nine other victims were treated and transported to Poriya Medical Center for further care.
Among the injured was a 30-year-old man listed in moderate condition with injuries to his limbs, while the remaining eight victims sustained minor injuries.
MDA paramedics Tal Tavtznik, Shlomi Boxer, and Gadi Eli said responders found one of the vehicles heavily damaged and immediately assessed the critically injured driver, but his injuries were too severe to save him.
Firefighters from the Galil-Golan station were also dispatched to the scene and used specialized hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate the victim from the wreckage. Rescue crews then searched the area for additional casualties before clearing the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
