The IDF is introducing a broad range of battlefield upgrades shaped by lessons from ongoing combat, including stronger armored vehicles, expanded drone capabilities, laser-based air defenses and advanced systems for frontline troops, according to a report in i24 News.

Among the developments is an upgraded Levi armored platform equipped with a more powerful engine to improve performance on steep terrain and under demanding battlefield conditions. The military is also strengthening armored vehicles with improved protection, sensors and communications systems.

Small drones are becoming a central part of ground operations, giving soldiers the ability to scan alleyways, identify threats and gather real-time intelligence before entering dangerous areas.

The “Or Eitan” laser system is also expected to add a new layer to Israel’s air defenses by destroying drones and other aerial threats at a far lower cost than traditional interceptor missiles.

The overhaul extends to individual soldiers as well, with new machine guns, night-vision systems and smart sights intended to improve accuracy, awareness and effectiveness in difficult terrain and low-visibility conditions.

Together, the upgrades are designed to create a faster, more connected and more precise fighting force capable of confronting threats ranging from rockets and drones to close-quarters combat.
