A major search operation is underway in the Kinneret after a man believed to be in his 40s reportedly entered the water near Chof HaTrapez and disappeared.

Police and rescue forces were dispatched to the scene after the man’s personal belongings were found abandoned on the beach, raising concerns that he entered the lake and failed to return.

The search includes officers from the Marine Police Unit, Northern District police, an Israel Police helicopter, and additional rescue personnel combing the area in an effort to locate the missing man.

Authorities said the search remains ongoing.
