Israeli ministers who are members of the security cabinet are voicing fierce criticism of the Board of Peace’s “disarmament” plan for the Hamas terror group in Gaza, saying that it amounts to “fake disarmament” while rewarding those responsible for murdering Jews.

The ministers’ criticism came after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu held a tense meeting with Peace Council Director-General Nikolay Mladenov, who urged Israel to suspend strikes and targeted killings in the Gaza Strip for 14 days to allow the parties to finalize the details of the proposed agreement.

Channel 12 quoted cabinet ministers as saying, “The United States is creating an entity in Gaza that rewards the murderers of Jews. That is not disarmament. All of the war’s objectives are being thrown into the trash.”

“We have gone from withdrawing only after Hamas is fully disarmed to gradual withdrawals every time there is some limited disarmament step. But even that is misleading—we’re talking about fake disarmament, because the weapons will be transferred into Palestinian hands, and Gaza will remain under Palestinian rule.”

The ministers further claimed that Netanyahu has refrained from publicly distancing himself from the framework out of respect for U.S. President Donald Trump, even though he understands that the proposal moves Israel further away from its objective of fully disarming Hamas before any withdrawal.

An Israeli political official later clarified that Israel will not withdraw from its current positions in Gaza and will continue to eliminate any threats.

Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich and Settlements Minister Orit Strock sent a letter to the prime minister on Monday demanding that the security cabinet convene and vote on a resolution to halt the framework, emphasizing that the proposal currently being advanced is not the same one presented to cabinet ministers during last week’s vote.

Meanwhile, U.S. officials recently delivered stern messages to Israel, saying that its conduct in Gaza is turning the country into a “pariah state.” Despite the criticism, Israeli officials insist that no withdrawal will take place until it is guaranteed that Hamas no longer remains the military or governing power in Gaza.
