Thousands of Jewish worshippers entered Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem overnight during a coordinated visit secured by IDF forces. Dozens of armored buses carried visitors into the city in several waves, with a smaller group remaining at the compound for morning prayers. 

The delegation included Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, Rabbi Elyakim Levanon, MK Tzvi Succot and Rabbi Yossi Elitzur, head of the Od Yosef Chai yeshiva. Senior IDF and Border Police commanders responsible for Judea & Samaria also attended. 

Participants called on the government to restore a permanent Jewish and military presence at the holy site. Dagan urged Israel to return the yeshiva, IDF troops and the Israeli flag to the compound, describing Joseph’s Tomb as the starting point for reversing the damage caused by the Oslo-era withdrawal. Succot said the abandoned site symbolizes years of weakness and must be fully reclaimed.
