JACKSON, N.J. (Aug. 4, 2026) — Authorities in Ocean County have opened an investigation into a unlawful entry and hate-fueled act of vandalism after perpetrators breached a former public school facility recently acquired by BMG.

According to police accounts, an unidentified group consisting of roughly seven teenagers or young adults gained entry to the former Christa McAuliffe Middle School structure by shattering a window. Once inside the building, which was recently purchased by Bais Medrash Govoha, the intruders left behind offensive graffiti, including a swastika, Nazi imagery, and explicit racial slurs.

The break-in marks the latest in a series of bias-related occurrences targeting Jewish-owned properties throughout the municipality. Recent months have seen multiple reported incidents of property damage, including swastika spray-paintings at local commercial establishments and windows damaged by pellet gun fire at private premises.

Law enforcement personnel are currently analyzing regional video surveillance footage and collecting physical evidence from the scene to identify the suspects involved. Investigators noted that there is presently no direct evidence linking the perpetrators to specific local groups or public commentators. Municipal police continue to appeal to the public for information, asking anyone with relevant knowledge regarding the break-in to contact local authorities immediately.
