NYC Starts Slapping Giant, Neon-Green ‘Shame Stickers’ on Cars Running Afoul of Parking Rules
City officials on Tuesday began slapping giant, neon-green “shame stickers” on the cars of drivers who fail to follow alternate side parking rules.
The 8.5 x 11-inch adhesives were brought back by Manhattan Council Member Gale Brewer, who sponsored a bill allowing street sweepers to stick it to scofflaw drivers.
Video posted to social media showed Brewer gleefully anointing the first unlucky vehicles to be shamed on an Upper West Side street.
