Lakewood Township hosted a special Bring Your Kid to Work Day today, welcoming the children of Township employees for a day of fun, learning, and hands-on experiences.

Organized by the Township’s Human Resources Department with assistance from the Lakewood Police Department, the day featured participation from several Township departments, including the LPD, EMS, and Public Works, giving children the opportunity to see firsthand the important work their parents perform every day.

Throughout the day, the children explored LPD vehicles, an EMS ambulance, and Public Works vehicles while learning about the important roles each department plays. They also enjoyed a K-9 demonstration, giving them a closer look at the skills and training of the Police Department’s K-9 unit. Employees answered questions, demonstrated equipment, and gave the children a behind-the-scenes look at their daily responsibilities.

The day offered a unique opportunity for Township employees’ children to connect with the work their parents do while recognizing the dedication of the employees who help keep the community safe, healthy, and running smoothly.
