HEZBOLLAH VIOLATION: IDF Launches Strikes in Southern Lebanon, Issues Rare Evacuation Warning

Aug 5, 2026·1 min read

The IDF announced Wednesday that it has launched targeted strikes in southern Lebanon in response to what it described as a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire agreement by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.

In a statement, the military said the strikes were carried out in response to Hezbollah’s actions but did not immediately provide additional details about the targets.

At the same time, the IDF issued a rare evacuation warning to residents of the southern Lebanese village of Al Mansouri, marking the first such warning in several weeks. The IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson instructed residents to immediately evacuate and move at least one kilometer north of the village.

“The violation of the ceasefire by Hezbollah forces the IDF to act with force against it,” the spokesperson said, adding that the military does not seek to harm civilians. Residents were warned that anyone near Hezbollah terrorists, weapons, or military infrastructure would be placing their lives at risk.

According to Israeli security officials, the evacuation order follows the establishment of a Lebanese Army position inside an area covered by the ceasefire understandings, in what Israel says is a violation of the agreed terms.
