NETANYAHU: Israel Is In The Midst Of Military And Diplomatic Events

Aug 5, 2026·2 min read

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that Israel is currently “in the midst of both military and diplomatic events,” adding that he would have to leave early due to his security-related schedule, Bechadrei Haredim reported.

“The fateful decisions we made, in the face of all the pressures from abroad and at home, brought us tremendous achievements on the battlefronts,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu also emphasized the importance of national unity, saying that one of the central conditions for Israel’s continued existence is the ability “to unite forces on matters that require unity.”

“I am not naive,” Netanyahu said. “We are in an election period. There will be arguments, but the unity among us is broader than people think.”

The prime minister said that after the elections, broad agreements would be needed to address Israel’s security threats and take advantage of diplomatic opportunities in the region.

Netanyahu said Israel would need “to secure our future in the face of the threats and take advantage of the opportunities with neighboring countries, and there are quite a few.”

Addressing Israel’s relationship with the United States, Netanyahu said, “The United States is our greatest friend, but Israel’s existence is not subject to negotiation, with an agreement or without one.”
